A magical afternoon at Heathcote Health Aged Care
MAGICIAN Cath Jamison delighted residents at Heathcote Health Aged Care recently with her comedy and illusion show.
The event was part of the Victorian Seniors Festival.
“This is my second visit here and it’s lovely to see everyone again,” said Jamison.
The illusionest entertained with a range of tricks and invited participation from residents and staff.
Known as Australia’s leading female magician, Jamison has performed all over the world, receiving rave reviews from Tim Burton, Dawn French, and Melissa Etheridge.
“When I was five my father gave me a magic kit and The Boys Book of Conjuring,” she told the audience. “The only girl’s books available were on knitting and ponies.
“I’ve loved magic ever since.”
With a comic twist accompanying her magic skills, Jamison soon had the residents laughing and clapping.
“Cath was very engaging,” said Leisure and Lifestyle coordinator Carol Fanning.
“There was lots of fun and lots of smiles. A great time was had by our residents and staff.
“It is a great initiative from the Victorian Seniors Festival to bring free entertainment into aged care homes.”
