A special treat for the women of Heathcote RSL
RETURNED and Services League men paid tribute to the ladies last weekend by hosting a special lunch in their honour.
The women were treated to a special RSL three-course meal and waited on by the men.
“The lunch was the initiative of our secretary Michael Carroll,” Heathcote RSL Sub-Branch president Miles Humphrey said.
“He cooked a very special meal which was served to the ladies by the other men in
the RSL.
“We wanted to thank the women for all the work they do in a volunteer capacity. The wives, partners and carers all do a great job, and it is very much appreciated.
“The lunch was well supported, and we received positive feedback from all who attended.”
The guest speaker was Euroa MP Annabelle Cleeland, who spoke about her background and the role of women in the Heathcote community.
“I always enjoy coming to Heathcote and interacting with the wonderful supportive community,” she said.
