OLDER residents gathered at Heathcote Community House last Friday to celebrate Seniors Week with a walk around the WonderWalk Info Loop.

The group met up with Heathcote Health Aged Care residents for a chat and a walk outside the facility.

They were joined by friends from Heathcote Health and RFDS Community Transport who also acknowledged World Mental Health Day.

Ann McLennan and Fran King led the group along the WonderWalk.

Aged care residents enjoy a walk with community members every Friday morning.

Anyone interested can join the group at Heathcote Community House at 9.30am and follow the WonderWalk route to the aged care facility where residents walk in the grounds.

When the weather is inclement, the community members and resident walk inside the facility.

“It is always wonderful to walk and chat with our aged care friends,” said community house executive officer Vicki Forde.

“You don’t have to come along every week, just join us when you can.

“Everyone is always welcome.”

Aged Care resident Nikolai enjoys walking with leisure and lifestyle assistant William.

Aged care resident Rob said he always looks forward to Friday mornings.

“It’s great to see some new faces and get some fresh air,” he said.

“We are very glad they come to walk with us.”
