Ag shows in the blood
SIXTH generation show woman Ellana Miller has been attending agricultural shows for as long as she can remember.
The popular grade 6 student will have her own stall at this year’s Heathcote Show.
“This will be the second year I have had my own stall,” Ellana said.
“I will be selling snow cones and cordial.”
Now living in Heathcote where she attends Heathcote Primary School, Ellana has toured the country with family members from both sides of her family.
“I love the experience of all the different towns and areas,” she said. “Being with family is great.
“I have helped my mother at shows in Bendigo and Shepparton.
“My pop, Charlie Miller, will help me at the Heathcote Show, and my dad builds custom trailers for show people.”
Earlier this year, Ellana was given the all-clear after developing leukaemia when she was six.
“The doctors told me I have very little chance of it ever coming back,” she said.
Besides her interest in shows, Ellana is a keen supporter of the Brisbane Broncos, and her favourite player is Reece Walsh.
“I also have two rabbits, and I love dogs,” she said.
“When I grow up, I might continue doing shows or perhaps I could be a vet. I love all animals.”
Ellana will be donating 50 cents from each snow cone sold at the show to cancer charity.
The Heathcote Show will be held on Melbourne Cup Day at the showgrounds.
