REGISTRATION for Heathcote Bowling Club’s Tuesday Night Social Pennant competition will be held on Cup Day with the competition starting on 11 November.
Also known as Barefoot Bowls, the competition is a friendly, inclusive event for all ages.
“Beginners or experienced bowlers are all welcome,” said president Lorraine Speirs.
“You don’t need a team as we can match you up with other players.
“The competition involves teams of four and runs for 14 weeks.
“This year we are limiting the number of teams to 14 so we can just use the front greens where we have lighting.”

Last year more than 80 people joined the event with four new players going on to become regular club members and competitors.
“It is a great way to try bowling,” said Greg Speirs.
“Each year we gain a few new members and have a really good turnout for the barefoot competition.
“It is only $5 to play, and drinks are available from the bar at bargain prices.
“The competition started in 1993 as a fundraiser when we got our first green.
“It has continued ever since and has been a starting point for many of our bowlers.”
Registration will be held at the bowling club from 6pm and anyone interested is invited to go along, have a drink and sign up.
