Big push for Big Freeze

PEOPLE are being urged to get behind this year’s FightMND Big Freeze fundraising campaign after Bendigo’s Coles supermarkets finished in the top dozen fundraisers nationally for two years in a row.

The latest edition of the Big Freeze beanies are now for sale at the supermarkets with all the funds raised from their sale going to FightMND cause.

Since 2018 Bendigo has raised more than $273,000 for the charity to support Motor Neurone Disease research and treatment.

FightMND co-founder Neale Daniher was diagnosed with the disease in 2013 said he wants as many Australians to get behind the cause this year as possible.

“I live by the words ‘when all is said and done, more is said than done, it’s about what you do’,” he said.

“This Big Freeze 9, I’m asking Australians to join the fight and lead with their actions.

“By donning your beanie, you’re making your mark in the fight against MND. One day when we live in a world free of this disease, you can stand proud knowing you helped to get us there.

“Join me in the all-in fight against MND and let’s show this beast that we won’t back down.”

Besides buying a Beanie, Coles has also partnered with Peters Ice Cream and by purchasing specially marked products you can also raise money for the FightMND charity.

The campaign runs till Wednesday, 28 June and coincides with the Big Freeze at the ‘G AFL match between Collingwood and Melbourne on the King’s Birthday holiday.
