TWO young members of Heathcote Taekwondo have worked hard to achieve their black belts.

Mackenzie and Gemma were also presented with their Kukkiwon certificates by Grand Master Jack Rozinszky recently.

Rozinszky founded the club more than 30 years ago as a division of the Melbourne Taekwondo Centre he started in 1963. “It was a pleasure to be with you all,” said Rozinszky, who visits the club regularly.

“It is wonderful that the club has continued for 30 years and is still going strong. I am very proud.”

The girls trained hard to achieve their black belts.

“Congratulations to Mackenzie and Gemma on achieving their black belts after a lot of hard work,” said Joan Stammers.

“Also, receiving their Kukkiwon certificates from Grand Master Rozinszky was a great honour.

“Well done, girls.”

Kukkiwon Certification is the internationally recognised black belt certification for World Taekwondo.

The Heathcote Taekwondo Club trains on Thursday nights at Barrack Reserve starting at 6pm and offers the first two sessions free of charge.
