PREPARATIONS are now underway for the 13th Annual Heathcote Film Festival.
The organising committee is now seeking submissions.
“We are particularly interested in searching out local filmmakers with a special focus on young and emerging talent,” committee member Duncan McGann said.
“There is a generous prize of $500 for the best emerging filmmaker. There is also a Jury Prize of $1000 and two People’s Choice Awards valued at $250.
“Being a short film festival, the films must be no longer than 15 minutes in length.
“Submissions for the festival close on 31 May.”
The festival was given a boost last year with a Bendigo Bank Community Grant enabling the committee to buy a new projector, sound system and large screen.
“As ever, we are looking to build on the success of previous years,” Mr McGann said.
“We will again have a less formal Popcorn and Picnic session on the Friday evening, and we are thrilled with the return of Monsieur Pierre of Kyneton as our caterers for the Saturday night Gala Dinner.
“The festival will be held on 29 and 30 August.”
