OPERATOR of the Heathcote Swimming Pool, Belgravia Leisure, has put the call out for lifeguards to help keep swimmers safe this summer.

The positions are open to people over 16 years old and don’t require any previous experience or training as the company provides it.

“The Heathcote Swimming Pool is a much-loved community asset that is well supported by the local community over the summer period,” said Aaron Hearps, Belgravia Leisure area manager.

“To ensure we are able to continue to operate such a quality facility, we are eager to recruit and train local community members to become lifeguards.

“No previous experience is necessary, and Belgravia Leisure will cover the cost of all first aid, CPR and the required lifeguard training that is required.

“You only need to be able to swim 200 meters in under six minutes and you’re in.”

Training provided by Belgravia Leisure is nationally recognised and includes qualifications like first aid, CPR, pool lifeguard certificate, and swim teacher certification.

Mr Hearps also said there are other benefits to working with the company, like free access to Belgravia Leisure run locations like Faith Leech Aquatic Centre, Brenna Park, and Marong as well as the gym, pool and spa facilities at Gurri Wanyarra Wellbeing Centre in Kangaroo Flat.

“Once you have registered your interest at belgravialeisure.com.au we’ll be in touch with the next steps to successfully onboard all applicants straight away, no formal interviewing is required,” Mr Hearps said.
