Cash grant backs visitor experiences

Bendigo Regional Tourism is set to receive a forty-five-thousand-dollar grant through the State Government’s Visitor Servicing Fund.

The money will come out of a $3 million statewide pool and assist with a Bendigo Region Visitor Services Review and Strategy.

“Congratulations to Bendigo Regional Tourism in securing this grant that will help visitors experience all that Central Victoria has to offer,” said Premier and Member for Bendigo East, Jacinta Allan.

The Visitor Servicing Fund was set up to help develop new technologies to improve visitors’ experiences, so they can most of their trips to the region.

Along with making local attracting more high-tech, the cash is also aimed at securing local tourism services for the future.

“The fund will help to connect visitors to Central Victoria to attractions, local businesses and encouraging them to spend more and stay longer by providing high-quality, personalised and timely information about what to see and do around Victoria,” said Member for Bendigo West, Maree Edwards.

The grant came through Stream A of the Visitor Servicing Fund which allows for grants of up to $50,000, and The City of Greater Bendigo was one of nine successful municipalities across Victoria to receive money this round.
