INTERNATIONAL Women’s Day will be celebrated with breakfast at the Watering Hole, next Wednesday 11 March from 7.30am to 9.30am.
The breakfast is organised by Heathcote Community House, Heathcote Health, Advance Heathcote Inc and Alkane.
“International Women’s Day in Heathcote is a simple but powerful moment,” said HCH executive officer Vicki Forde.
“It’s about women taking the time to connect with each other before the day gets busy.
“When women know each other, support each other and collaborate, our whole community benefits.”
Ms Forde said the breakfast isn’t about big speeches or formalities; it’s about real conversations.
“Relationships built over a coffee can turn into partnerships, support networks, and practical help when it’s needed,” she said.
“In small communities like Heathcote, connection matters.
“The stronger the relationships between women, across business, health, volunteering and family life, the stronger the community.
“We’re incredibly grateful to Mandalay, now Alkane Costerfield, for once again covering the cost of hot drinks and muffins.
“That ongoing support means every woman can attend without worrying about cost.”
Everyone attending can have a hot drink and a muffin, paid for by Alkane, or attendees can order and pay for other items from the menu at The Watering Hole.
“Joan at The Watering Hole always goes above and beyond, happily cooking up breakfast options for anyone who needs something different,” said Ms Forde.
“It’s that generosity that makes this event feel so welcoming.
“The breakfast is a great example of how easily things can happen in Heathcote when people work together.
“A few phone calls and messages between us at Heathcote Community House, Kerstin from Advanced Heathcote, Michelle at Heathcote Health, and our wonderful local businesses, and it’s done.
“It really does take a village.
“When women connect, collaborate and support one another, it creates a network that makes Heathcote more resilient, inclusive and welcoming.”
Everyone is welcome at The Watering Hole, 105 High Street, Heathcote.
International Women’s Day is officially marked on 8 March.
