HEATHCOTE residents braved the inclement weather to celebrate Community Bank Heathcote and District’s twentieth anniversary last weekend.

The bank was joined by community organisations and other stallholders, creating a fun atmosphere despite intermittent showers and cold wind.

Among the groups represented were Heathcote CFA, BARC, CWA Heathcote Night, Heathcote Cricket Club, Heathcote Film Festival, Heathcote U3A, Heathcote Health, RFDS Community Transport, Heathcote Ukulele Group, The O’Keefe Challenge, SES Heathcote Unit, Heathcote Artists Inc and Heathcote Community House.

The Skerricks provided music, MyCakeKitchen supplied coffee, Charlie Miller made fairy floss and there were amusements from The Zone Bendigo and Glitter Pop Face Painting.

Inspired by The Blue Tree Project, Heathcote Health and Heathcote Community House displayed a blue tree pained by Sandra Kirby where attendees added messages of support for mental health.

“The staff, board and I were so happy to see so many locals brave the weather to enjoy the activities and interact with our community groups,” said marketing and local engagement manager Charleen Warburton.

Ivy and Hadley enjoyed a bucket of delicious fairy floss.

“Community Bank Heathcote and District is all about giving back to our community and to celebrate our 20th birthday, we are giving the community the gifts.

“We put on this event for our community to enjoy free of charge.

“And I’m pleased to announce that all the not-for-profit community groups who set up an activity or display for the day will receive a share of $20,000.

“A thank you from us to you all for banking with us and ensuring we can continue to give back.”
