THE Annual Cornella Canola Walk at Shiraz Republic winery is again attracting hundreds of visitors to the golden yellow fields stretching as far as the eye can see.

More than 2500 people walked through the blooms last year and father and son owners Brian Spencer and Spencer Page hope to equal that number this year.

“The number of visitors always depends on the weather conditions but so far the weather has been good,” said Mr Spencer.

Visitors can walk through vibrant yellow canola fields at Shiraz Republic, Cornella.

The idea of the Canola Walk was conceived by Spencer and Page three years ago.

“I saw a program on TV where farmers complained about people breaking down their fences and trampling crops just so they can get a closer look,” said Mr Spencer.

“So, we created a walk through our field and had about 700 people through in the first season.”

The Cornella Canola Walk is perfect for families, photographers, and nature enthusiasts alike.

“Imagine strolling through vast fields of vibrant yellow canola blossoms, the golden sea stretching as far as the eye can see,” said Mr Page.

“The Cornella Canola Walk promises an unforgettable experience amidst nature’s brilliance.

“From mid-late August, the winery’s picturesque landscape transforms into a mesmerising tapestry of yellow hues.

“Visitors are encouraged to immerse themselves in the beauty of the canola fields, capturing breathtaking moments and making lasting memories.

“It offers a unique opportunity to connect with nature while enjoying the serene ambiance of Shiraz Republic’s esteemed vineyards.”

Visitors can learn about the canola plant’s journey from seed to bloom as they wander through the flowering fields on self-guided tours.

“After a walk, visitors can kick back at our family friendly cellar door with all-day pizza menu, kid-friendly drink options, outdoor pool table and live music,” Mr Page said.

“Adults can savour the wines crafted from our own vineyards and indulge in the distinct flavours of Cornella Brewery’s craft beers, brewed on-site.”

The Canola Walk is expected to run until 7 October at Shiraz Republic, 507 Hamblin Road, Cornella.

Tickets are available at the cellar door and no pre-booking is required. For further information visit shirazrepublic.com.au.
