FOLLOWING on from a successful Kid’s Movie Day last week, the Tooborac Mechanics Hall & Recreation Reserve Committee will hold a Community Dance next month.

Country/rock band from Kinglake, The Mason Boys, have been performing together since 2000 and will provide the music.

“The Kid’s Movie Day went really well,” said Donna Bush, event co-organiser.

“It was a great school holiday activity and both kids and adults enjoyed it. We had hot dogs, popcorn, lollies, drinks and ice cream.

“In the morning session we watched ‘Bluey’ and in the afternoon ‘Back to the Outback’.”

Ms Bush said the committee members hopes the dance will again bring the community together, to kick up their heels and dance, meet other locals and have a great night out.

“It will start and finish early,” she said. “So people can move on to other events if they want, and children will be very welcome.

“Tickets include a delicious supper and treats for the kids, including fairy bread.”

The dance will be held at the Tooborac Mechanics Institute Hall on 21 October from 4pm to 9pm.

Tickets are $20 per person with kids free and it’s BYO drinks.

In the future, the committee members are planning more community events, including a Christmas Party on 10 December.
