IN A JOINT effort by Heathcote CFA, Lions and SES, the town this year recorded it’s best ever result for Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal.
Volunteers helped to raise a magnificent $14,404.
“There are a lot of very generous people, both in town and passing through,” said CFA recruitment officer Peter Duncan.
“Most people were good about being slowed down a little for the collection even though some must have had to stop multiple times since leaving Melbourne.

“The weather was great and we had lots of volunteers helping on the day.
“Several local businesses had collection tins on their counters and Pizzeria Montana gave us a $500 cheque on top of their tin as well.”
The Royal Children’s Hospital has a history spanning more than 90 years and has helped children from all over Victoria.
The final total for this year’s appeal was a record $23,368,724.
