LA TROBE University, Bendigo TAFE and the Bendigo Tertiary Education Anniversary Foundation are coming together to host events in continued celebration of one hundred and fifty years of tertiary education in the city.

The next event in the catalogue is a free public lecture led by Professor Therese Keane on the role of artificial intelligence and new learning technologies in education.

Called Empowering Minds, the hour-long event will see Professor Keane discuss how educators can use new technologies to enhance learning and how the risks and benefits of doing so can be evaluated.

Professor Keane is a long-standing advocate for women in science, technology, engineering and maths and will be bringing her expertise in information and communication technology to the lecture.

Empowering Minds will be held at the Circular Lecture Theatre at La Trobe University Bendigo on 17 August at 6pm.

People interested in how technology will shape our future are encouraged to attend and can register on the La Trobe website.

The lecture is the first in a series of free presentations from prominent educators in Victoria with more event details to be announced soon via the La Trobe Bendigo news page.
