Fire station open day a success
BOTH new and long-term residents in the district attended the Heathcote Fire Station open day last weekend.
As part of the event CFA members were on hand to discuss concerns about the coming fire season and provide brochures and information.
“It was good to see many new residents seeking information on how to prepare their properties,” said community safety coordinator Evan Pritchard.
“There was some really good interest in property assessment visits and we signed a few more people up.
“Children enjoyed seeing the fire trucks and having their photos taken and, of course, everyone loved the doughnuts and dim sims in the caravan at the front.”
Bookings for property assessment visits are still being taken and will commence on 18 November.
Anyone interested can contact Mr Pritchard at [email protected] or call 0417 178 658.
“For anyone who was unable to attend the open day, we will be at the Community Smiles Day at Barrack Reserve on 25 November,” he said.
“The CFA Mobile Education Unit will be there and we will have audio-visual presentations, plenty of information and members available to answer any questions.”
