Free fun in the parkfor Australia Day
A FREE Australia Day Picnic in the Park will be held at Barrack Reserve on Sunday.
The event will be hosted by the Heathcote RSL Sub-Branch.
“I hope everyone will spread the word and come on down to enjoy the event in the shade of Barrack Reserve,” RSL Sub-Branch president Miles Humphrey said.
“It is the fifth time we have hosted an Australia Day event, and it will run from 10am to 2pm.
“The day will feature a sausage sizzle, ice cream, petting zoo, face painting and live entertainment, and all free.
“This community event is coordinated by the volunteers of the Heathcote RSL Sub-Branch and supported by our social fundraising.
“We are grateful for donations and support from local community groups and businesses.
“It gets more popular each year. Bring your own picnic or enjoy our snags. Happy Australia Day, whatever you are doing.”
The event is sponsored by the City of Greater Bendigo, Mandalay Resources, The Barn, Heathcote Lions Club, Heathcote Post Office and Gifts, and Champions IGA, with vendors Animals2U petting zoo and face painting, Sweets & Treats Ice Cream, McIvor Meats, The Bremer River Band and The Clan McLeod Pipe Band.
