HEATHCOTE residents are invited to the annual RSL Black Tie Ball to be held on 23 August.
It will be the sixth time the Heathcote RSL Sub-Branch has hosted the ball.
“It has become a very popular event,” RSL member Lyn Hough said.
“Everyone loves to dress up and it’s a great chance to meet up, dance and socialise with friends.
“Once again, we will have the fantastic Australian Army Band playing and a three-course meal.
“It is a licensed event, starting at 6pm. To secure your tickets at $65 per person, call me on 0409 767 582.”
Along with the Black Tie Ball, the Heathcote RSL Sub-Branch hosts many more events through the year.
“Every year we hold commemorations for Anzac and Remembrance Day,” Ms Hough said.
“We also have an annual Vets Day and a Cup Day Lunch.
“On Australia Day we hold the Picnic in the Park, featuring a sausage sizzle, petting zoo, live music and ice cream.
“We screen the AFL grand final on the big screen and we hold Happy Hour on the first and third Friday nights from 5pm to 7pm where members socialise.
“Once a month the veteran’s wives get together for lunch a different hotels. We call ourselves the V-Dubs and it’s always great fun.”
