NEW members are being sought for Heathcote Health’s consumer advisory group with participants having a say in the ongoing development of offerings at the service.Members of the group will be at the Lions Bush market tomorrow to talk about the body and answer questions.

“We are looking for people from a diverse range of ages and backgrounds, so we can hear many viewpoints,” said Heathcote Health board chair Jo Stanford.

“We want suggestions and feedback on the services we offer, or may offer in the future.

“If you have an hour or so to spare every second month, we’d love to hear from you.”

Meetings are held in the hospital, but joining via Zoom is also an option for some gatherings.

“Ideally, we’d also like some representation from people with young families, and people involved in community groups to compliment the skills of existing members,” said Ms Stanford.

“A consumer is someone who has used, or may use, Heathcote Health’s services, including residents, clients, patients and their families.”

Philippa Nichol is a member of the advisory group and said she joined because she wanted to do something for others.

“I’m a disability advocate and a user of the aged care services,” said Ms Nichol.

“I hope my contribution helps make a difference for others using Heathcote Health services.”

The group meets once every two months, currently on a Wednesday in the middle of the day.

All members need to undergo a police check, paid for by the health service and agree to the organisation’s privacy and confidentiality policies.
