Have your say on cost-of-living crunch
MEMBER for Euroa ,Annabelle Cleeland, wants to gain a better understanding of how current cost-of-living pressures are affecting regional Victorian household and business budgets.
As part of that push she’s seeking responses to a cost-of-living survey with a series of short questions designed to highlight what is causing the most financial stress and, as a result, where people need support.
In a statement, Ms Cleeland said families and businesses across the Euroa electorate were being burdened by a growing list of taxes, with many struggling to make ends meet.
“Unfortunately, people in our electorate are doing it tough with rising cost-of-living pressures,” Ms Cleeland said.
“Victoria is a financially broken state, and as fees and charges continue to soar, it’s becoming more difficult to put food on the table with the average Victorian family grocery bill now $1565 more than last year.
“Regional Victorians continue to pay more in taxes and charges, but are left with poor government services, a crumbling road network and growing medical waiting lists.”
Households and businesses are encouraged to complete the survey, which can be accessed via vicn.at/costofliving.
