TWENTY-seven venues have signed up for this year’s Heathcote on Show on the King’s Birthday weekend.

Visitors will be able to enjoy everything from tastings, new releases, gourmet food and live music to an art show and a hot air balloon experience.

“This will be the largest Heathcote on Show ever, with 27 venues participating and new activities to enjoy,” said Peter Young, president of Heathcote Tourism and Development.

“It’s great to see the Heathcote Artists group joining Heathcote on Show with an art show in the RSL Hall in the main street of town, all weekend.

“And, if you have never been in a hot air balloon, you can give it a try at Munari Wines.”

Tellurian Wines will host King’s Birthday Dinners on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 June.

Visitors can join owner Ian Hopkins and celebrated local restaurant Ms Batterhams for dinner in the Barrel Room, matched with Tellurian wines.

Guests will be welcomed with canapes and a glass of wine at the cellar door before a three-course dinner.

The cost is $145 per person.

Heathcote Artists will celebrate support for local creatives with their 20th Anniversary Exhibition and Sale at the RSL Hall.

The exhibition will feature work by past and present members and there will be a local artist in residence daily.

Attendees can view work in watercolour, oil, acrylic, pastel and other media and vote for the People’s Choice Award.

Munari Wines’ balloon rides will travel over the vineyard.

For anyone who has ever wanted to have a go but been restricted by the cost, travel or the early morning, this could be their opportunity.

The balloon will be tethered by a rope, floating at 20 metres, enabling participants to enjoy the scenery before floating down again.

The cost is $25 per person and the rides will be held on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 June from 11am to 5pm at Munari Wines, 1129 Northern Highway, Ladys Pass.

No bookings are required in case of bad weather. More information can be found at munariwines.com
