High St Xray is giving eligible patients access to potentially lifesaving low-dose CT screening free of charge.

HIGH St Xray is proud to announce its involvement in the Australian Government’s National Lung Cancer Screening Program (NLCSP), which recently launched on 1 July 2025.

As a participating provider, High St Xray is pleased to offer this important new service across regional Victoria, giving eligible patients access to potentially lifesaving low-dose CT screening, entirely free of charge.

The NLCSP is the first nationwide, targeted lung cancer screening initiative in Australia, aimed at reducing deaths through early detection in high-risk populations. With lung cancer being the leading cause of cancer death in Australia, early identification through screening is key to improving survival rates.

High St Xray’s inclusion in the program ensures people living in Central Victoria can access world-class diagnostic imaging closer to home.

Dr Heather Pascoe, Respiratory Subspecialist Radiologist at High St Xray, said the program represents a major step forward in equitable access to cancer detection and care.

“We are excited to be able to offer this new, free lung cancer screening service to regional Victorian communities.

“Employing highly trained radiologists and the latest low-dose CT technology, this will be the gold-standard in lung cancer screening,” Dr Pascoe said.

Appointments are available at High St Xray, Bendigo – Monday to Friday, 8am to 5.30pm.

Individuals aged between 50 to 70 years with a history of heavy smoking are encouraged to speak with their GP about their eligibility to access the program.

High St Xray is committed to advancing health outcomes across regional Victoria through diagnostic excellence, cutting-edge technology, and a patient-first approach.
