Honours for Heathcote Taekwondo coaches
THREE members of Heathcote Taekwondo Club were presented with new belts and certificates last week after achieving an extra dan on their black belts.
Grand Master Jack Rozinszky who founded the club as a division of the Melbourne Taekwondo Centre more than 30 years ago made the presentations.
“I am very proud of them,” he said. “They have worked hard to earn these awards.”
Karra King received her fifth dan while Joshua and Wayne Ettwell received their sixth dans.
“This is a wonderful achievement and will go around the world,” said Mr Rozinszky.
“Wayne has kept this club going for more than 30 years. I am very proud.”
After the presentation, Wayne Ettwell presented Mr Rozinszky with a donation to help rebuild the Glen Waverley division of the Melbourne Taekwondo Centre after it was destroyed by fire two weeks ago.
“It has been a very disturbing time,” said Mr Rozinszky.
“Fortunately, we were able to save some memorabilia, including Olympic replicas but the building was destroyed.
“We were kindly offered the use of a school gym hall to use until we can rebuild.”
The Heathcote Taekwondo Club trains on Thursday nights at Barrack Reserve starting at 6pm and offer the first two sessions free of charge.
