Invitation goes out for a coffee with a cop
HEATHCOTE’S first ever female police sergeant, Holly Lembke, has now been appointed to a permanent position and is inviting residents to a Coffee with a Cop, to meet and discuss their safety concerns.
Everyone is welcome to join her at Gaffney’s Bakery on 16 November between 10am and 11.30am.
“Police are given very important powers and I pride myself on using those powers to make a real difference to people’s lives,” said Sergeant Lembke.
“I have a passion for helping people break away from domestic violence. Typically women who are economically or financially controlled, who feel they have no options.
“I also have a passion for catching drinking and drunk drivers. Their actions are not only reckless to their own lives, but there is nothing worse than attending a collision where innocent lives are lost due to the behaviour of an alcohol or drug affected driver.
“All members at Heathcote Police Station are now qualified to conduct alcohol and drug tests on drivers.”
Sergeant Lembke said she hopes as many people as possible will join her at the bakery or call into the station to voice any concerns.
“You will find me regularly conducting a foot patrol through Heathcote,” she said.
“I want the community to know that I am friendly, approachable and willing to assist where I can.”
