SIXTEEN enthusiastic women attended Heathcote Golf Club’s first Get into Golf Day last week.
The event offered the chance to learn more about the game for anyone interested.
“We were absolutely thrilled to welcome 16 enthusiastic ladies to our Get into Golf Day” said Liz Tobin from the Heathcote Golf Club committee.
“They had the opportunity to learn new skills and experience the game in a fun and friendly environment.”
Heathcote’s local golf professional, Bryan Wearne, led the session and introduced participants to a range of essential drills.
The women practiced putting, chipping, and iron play, gaining valuable tips and techniques to help them build confidence on the course.
“I’d never played a round of golf in my life, but I came along because it seemed like a great opportunity to try out something new with a bunch of local women,” said Kerrie Burn.
“We got to try out everything for ourselves in a way that was fun, rather than intimidating.”
After the session, many participants stayed back for a well-deserved drink and chat, rounding off an afternoon of learning and socialising.
“The atmosphere was fantastic, with plenty of laughter and encouragement all around,” said Ms Tobin.
“If you missed out this time, don’t worry, the next clinic will be held on Sunday from 2pm to 3:30pm.
“Each session costs just $5, making it an affordable and fun way to get started or to improve your game.”
