HEATHCOTE residents took the opportunity to meet with local brigade members at the CFA Open Day last Saturday.

A Fire Safety Essentials session was conducted by Mandurang CFA Community Safety Officer Sue Bull.

“As the fire season is fast approaching, it’s crucial to get the message out to residents about the importance of fire safety and property preparation,” said Community Safety Coordinator, Evan Pritchard

“Sue Bull is an expert in this area and it was great to have her visit the station on our Open Day and talk to people about how to stay safe this summer.

“If anyone missed the session, there will be another one on 19 November at 7pm at the Heathcote Fire Station.”

Ms Bull said she enjoys visiting fire stations and conducting Fire Safety Essential sessions.

“It’s always good to meet residents and give them tips on property preparation, staying and defending, evacuation essentials and bushfires and pets,” she said.

“Being prepared can save lives.”
