OPERATORS of the Heathcote Swimming Pool, Belgravia Leisure are currently recruiting lifeguards to work during the 2023/24 season.

Applicants must be at least 16 years old, and no previous experience or CV is required to sign up.

Seasonal pools manager Jake Thrum said successful online applicants would receive free training that would lead to qualifications in first aid, CPR, and lifesaving.

“We would absolutely love to welcome some more Heathcote locals to our team for the upcoming 2023/24 season,” he said.

Mr Thrum said they were looking for enthusiastic individuals with a passion for water safety who would be able to help swimmers have a safe and enjoyable experience.

“The Heathcote pool is a family friendly seasonal pool that is an extremely important part of the local community,” he said.

Lifeguards’ responsibilities include helping swimmers, pool supervision, first aid, and assistance to other departments as required.

Successful applicants will have access to a range of benefits including gym membership and an employee assistance program.

Candidates are required to have a reasonable level of health and fitness and must be either an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or hold a visa that allows them to undertake work in Australia.

The summer season at Heathcote Swimming Pool is scheduled to start on Saturday 18 November and run until Sunday 19 March.

The pool, located in Barrack Reserve at Heathcote, is open seven days a week but is closed when the forecast temperature is less than 22 degrees.
