Mental-health grants available
The money is coming via the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal and CGI Giving with a grant pool of $250,000 available as part of the In a Good Place program.
FRRR’s people programs portfolio lead Jill Karena said IAGP is now in its sixth year.
“The program has a definite and important role to play in supporting rural communities,” she said.
“It helps to bring mental health and wellbeing out in the open, making it okay to talk about and okay to reach out and ask for help.”
CCI general manager Jeremy Yipp said since joining forces with FRRR in 2018, they have seen the impact the program has had on 53 projects.
“Seed funding is critical for the smaller community projects so that they can develop a proof of concept for their activity model and see what works and what doesn’t, and why,” he said.
This time the funding pool is $50,000 more than offered in previous rounds and is the result of a new five-year partnership.
Applications are open until Wednesday, 17 May, and visit frrr.org.au for more information.
