HEATHCOTE Wonder Walk is set to become even more engaging with fresh updates to its content and resources each month. The Wonder Walk is available to all.

“From Friday 12 September to Friday 10 October, the walk will focus on celebrating seniors and healthy ageing as part of the Greater Bendigo Seniors Festival,” said Meagan Forder, Health promotion officer from Heathcote Health.

“Visitors can enjoy activities, helpful facts, and information on local services that support older adults in Heathcote.

“Following this, from Friday 17 October to Monday 10 November, the spotlight will shift to mental health and wellbeing, providing practical tips, supportive resources, and pathways to local organisations.

“In addition to the themed displays, the Wonder Walk will feature local creativity, with community members invited to submit their own creative work to be showcased along the trail—details on how to get involved will be announced shortly.

“The Wonder Walk is available to enjoy at any time, offering a self-paced experience for individuals, families, or groups.

“You can start and finish wherever you like, and information packs to support the many facts and connections you will learn along its path can be accessed from outside the community house, as signposted.”

Every Friday morning walkers meet at community house to walk along the Wonder Walk and join with residents at the Heathcote Health Aged Care facility for a low impact walk.

“Everyone is welcome to join the Heathcote Community House beginner walking group that meets every Friday at 9.30am, starting at the community house,” said Ms Forder.

“Each walk is followed by a friendly morning tea, an ideal way to keep active and connected.

“To coincide with the monthly themes, there will be some Fridays where we will celebrate with other guests and additional resources will be available.”
