Native plants on display
A special feature of the Australian Plants Society Heathcote Inc flower show and plant sale this Saturday will be artwork from local artists.
Heathcote Artists Inc have been working in a variety of styles for a display of scenes from aspects of the local area.
“Many of the artists will be there on the day and they will have some available for purchase,” said APS Heathcote secretary Tania Biagioni.
“We will also have some magnificent floral displays and named specimens.
“And there will be seven local stall holders selling and promoting local indigenous species.
“We had a very successful show last year and we are hoping this year will be even better.”
The APS Heathcote is a non-profit, incorporated community organisation dedicated to growing, conserving and promoting Australian native plants.
All funds raised will go towards the Heathcote Native Garden Project.
“We are very grateful for the support of local businesses who have generously donated prizes for our raffle,” said Ms Biagioni.
“Admission to the show is just $2 per person and kids are free.”
The show will be held at Barrack Reserve Stadium on Saturday 6 April from 9am to 3pm.
