HEATHCOTE Community House will soon have a new heating and cooling split system for its enclosed outdoor room.
The system will be an asset to the house activities with many groups utilising the outdoor room.
“Although the weather has been getting colder lately, we have been blessed with warm sunshine to heat the area,” said executive officer Vicki Forde.
“But the area gets very cold in winter and hot in summer.
“The split system will be a huge asset to our activities.
“It is important for participants to be comfortable when attending groups and classes, and inclement weather often sees numbers drop.
“Heathcote Community House has outgrown its space and currently many of our activities are held off-site.
“This system will help us to keep this space cosy or cooled, allowing us all to continue engagement in activities.
“We are hoping it will be installed in the next two weeks.”
The outdoor activities room was developed before the pandemic with a grant from the national Stronger Regions Fund.
“With the grown in Heathcote’s population we are hoping to attract more funding to enable us to build a larger activities room,” said Ms Forde.
“It would be wonderful to be able to hold more activities and events on site.”
