All aboard: The Bendigo Ambassador Pass provides one free entry, as well as other offers, to holders taking friends and family out and about in the Greater Bendigo region. FILE

THE City of Greater Bendigo has reintroduced an initiative to get more people to visit local tourist attractions in the region in time for visiting family and friends during summer.

Known as the Bendigo Ambassador Pass, the program allows holders to receive one free entry or special offers across several locations when certain conditions are met, including going with a full-paying adult or purchasing a family pass.

City of Greater Bendigo manager tourism and major events Terry Karamaloudis said the pass is a great way to benefit from being a tourist in your own town.

“The cost quickly adds up when you’re showing extended family and visitors around various local experiences and attractions but with a Bendigo Ambassador Pass you can enjoy great savings and special offers,” he said.

“The pass makes it easier and cheaper for you to accompany friends and relatives so you can all enjoy the best of Greater Bendigo’s experiences and have a lot of fun together.

“It’s completely free to obtain a Bendigo Ambassador Pass and you can use it all year round, not just during the holidays. The only condition is that you must be a Greater Bendigo resident.

“Fill out your details on our bendigotourism.com website and a Bendigo Ambassador Pass will be emailed directly to your inbox.

“To redeem an offer with the Ambassador Pass, simply visit one of the listed businesses and show your pass.”

The attractions the pass can be used for Bendigo Tramways Talking Tram Tour, Central Deborah Gold Mine Experience Tour, Bendigo Pottery, Bendigo Town Hall and Sandhurst Gaol Tours, Golden Dragon Museum, Victorian Goldfields Railway Train Ride, Discovery Science and Technology Centre, and Soldiers Memorial Institute Military Museum, and others.
