HEATHCOTE Community House is offering an opportunity to prepare for Christmas without that last minute rush.
Two Christmas decorating workshops will be held in July.
Florist, event organiser and familiar face at the community house, Sylvia Crewe will facilitate the workshops.
“We are very privileged to have somebody with Sylvia’s experience and talents,” said community house executive officer, Vicki Forde.
“HCH’s decorations always bring a smile to those in our community passing by, who live here or are visiting.
“It’s our way of helping to bring the festive spirit of the season to us all.
“They are put together so that people can take special Christmas photos and/or selfies with many interactive and pretty displays that accommodate just that.”
At workshop one, participants will learn the skills needed to make this year’s Community House Christmas Grotto.
At workshop two, participants will use coloured tinsel and special trinkets to learn how to make their own noodle-based decorations to take home, including garlands, wreaths and more.
The workshops will be held on Saturdays 12 and 19 July from 12pm to 2pm. Each session is $10 per person with materials supplied.
