Planning for show a go!
AFTER the cancellation of last year’s event, the Heathcote Show Committee is pleased with progress for the one hundred and thirty ninth iteration for the show set for Melbourne Cup Day.
The arts and craft schedules are now available at the Heathcote Post Office, the City of Greater Bendigo municipal office, Courthouse Crafts and the town’s information centre.
Details on the horse events will be on the show’s Facebook page closer to the day.
“We are really looking forward to this year’s show after we had to cancel last year due to the floods,” said Robyn Donovan, show secretary.
“A number of food vans have already booked and everything is going to plan.
“There is something for everyone to enter. The Arts and crafts categories include sewing, knitting, crochet, scrapbooking and beadwork.
“The garden and produce competition has sections ranging from floral art, vegetables and eggs to potted plants and flowers.
“Our two local schools and the Tooborac Primary School always support the show and are already preparing art, handwriting and cooking entries.”
The pre-show office will be open for entries on Friday 27 October between 1pm and 4pm for school entries and for other entries from Wednesday 1 to Friday 3 November from 9.30am to 4.30pm, and Saturday 4 November from 9.30 to 12 noon.
“Entry for under 16s will be free this year and $12 for adults. EFTPOS will be available at the gate as well as cash payment,” said Ms Donovan.
