THE Junior School Council at Heathcote Primary School organised a Plushies and Pyjamas Day to celebrate the end of term two.
Students were invited to donate a gold coin with all funds raised going the Heathcote SES.
“Every year each class elects two students to be their JSC representatives,” said Heathcote Primary School principal Carolyn Crowther.
“The JSC then chooses a local organisation to raise money for and this year, they identified the SES.
“In the afternoon, on the last day of term, SES members visited the school and showed the students the truck and some of the equipment they use in emergencies.
“The JSC students then thanked the SES volunteers who attended and presented them with a $140 donation.”
The visit was a hit with all the students.
“In the words of one of our foundation students, the day was epic,” said Ms Crowther.
“We are very grateful for the visit and would like to extend our thanks to the SES for their time and support.”
