Reunion for former Mia Mia Primary School students

FORMER students, families and friends of the Mia Mia Primary School are invited to a reunion to be held at the Mia Mia Hall on Sunday 12 October from 1pm to 5pm.

The Primary School opened in 1869 and closed in 1991, merging with Redesdale Primary School.

“We have been organising this for about six months,” said committee member Chris McGrath (nee Bennett).

“We will just keep it simple, a chance to catch up and recall memories.

“Maureen Charville (nee O’Sullivan) has made up a spread sheet and is trying to contact as many people as she can.

“We ask everyone attending to bring a plate. Tea and coffee will be supplied and it’s BYO drinks.

“During the afternoon we will take a wander up to the old site, reminisce and, hopefully, get a group photo.

“The Hall Committee has kindly offered the use of the Mia Mia Hall and we would encourage attendees to contribute a small donation to this valuable resource.

“A collection tin will be located on the kitchen counter.”
