HEATHCOTE Fire Brigade members have been in close contact with Santa as he prepares to make his annual lolly run around the streets of Heathcote on the back of the fire truck.
The run will take place today, starting at Victoria Hill Road at 7pm.
“The run will take the usual route,” CFA member and organiser Christie Ashen said.
“Santa’s getting a lift from our town’s heroes.
“Watch for the CFA fire truck rolling through Heathcote.
“Jingle bells and diesel smells – Santa’s on a CFA truck to Heathcote!”
Santa and his CFA helpers will stop at various corners around town to distribute bags of lollies and wave to children.
The first stop will be on the corner of Kilmore and Victoria Hill roads, followed by Herriot and Ebden streets.
From there he will travel along Hospital Street to Jennings Street, turning on to High Street at Gaffney’s Bakery and continuing on to Herriot Street.
The truck will turn at Ebden Street, making its way to Mitchell Street, back to Playne Street, then Herriot Street.
After passing the fire station, the truck will drive down Wright Street to Shakespeare Street, to Skullys Lane and the golf course, where children can wave Santa goodbye before he heads back to the North Pole.
CFA members ask everyone to be careful near the roads and at Santa’s stops, and they wish everyone a very merry Christmas.
