Sharing a love of nature’s beauty
ARTIST Rosalie Street shares her appreciation for nature’s beauty in her current exhibition at Heathcote Winery.
The solo show, Beauty Surrounds Us, will run until 12 January 2025 and is a selection of recent paintings from Street’s hometown on the Mornington Peninsula and other regions in Victoria.
“I’m constantly moved by the change of light creating sublime colour palettes and the balance of organic forms, especially between land and sky,” said Street.
“Simplifying the subject matter whilst focusing on blocks of colour creates a sense of stillness and calm, heightening my deep appreciation for natures precious beauty.
“In 2024, I finally found myself with the physical and mental space to create on a larger scale again.
“To paint freely is a grounding and restorative process. I share my gratitude and peace through this body of work as I embark on a new phase of life in my creative journey.”
Street said she paints to find peace and solace.
“There is so much destruction and hardship taking place in the world, and I want to counterbalance this,” she said.
“I hope my paintings let people feel a sense of calm and beauty within.
“I’m grateful to live in a time where woman artists can continue their careers at any stage.
“Social media and the internet have given all artists a platform in which they can be seen and followed.
“I make is a point to be creative in everything I do because when you are creative you are acknowledging all senses and details, you are seeing the world in a different light.
“It was a pleasure to be invited to exhibited at Heathcote Winery.
“Fine food, wine and art belong together and give people a reason to converse.”
All paintings on display are framed and available for sale.
Heathcote Winery is open daily from 11am – 5pm. Closed on public holidays.
