Social focus for group
STAFF at Bendigo Health Community Allied Services have created a group with the aim of helping older people engage in social activities.
Known as the Planned Activity Group, the effort is seeking to give seniors a chance to socialise with others, enjoy activities, and go on outings.
A focus for the group is using the individual strengths of members to helping them build their capacity to be independent members of the community.
As part of the program, Social and respite opportunities will be provided to both participants and their carers with the aim of creating long term independent living.
Participants can take part in activities like exercise games, craft, bingo, card games, and gardening.
Support staff from Bendigo Health Community Allied Services will be on hand to help the participants with activities and to make sure they are receiving appropriate support.
