Spooktacular fun for Halloween
GHOSTS and ghouls, and other weird and wonderful creatures will walk High Street again this Halloween.
Following on from a successful event last year, the Heathcote Halloween Festival group is looking forward to another Halloween Spooktacular on 31 October, starting at 5.30pm.
“The idea came about after COVID-19 lockdowns and the cancellation of the Heathcote Show due to the floods,” said group member Ruth Austin.
“We wanted some fun, especially for the kids.
“So many people told us how much they enjoyed it, so we decided to do it again this year. Everyone is welcome.
“The idea of the trick or treat in car boot came from researching different activities we could do. This encouraged families to be involved.
“This year we will be having a car boot trick or treat in the main street, a sausage sizzle and a guess the lollies in the jar competition.
“There will be prizes for best costumes, both male and female, in the zero to five, six to 12, 13 to 17 and adult ages and there will be playdough and games for the under-fives.
“All prizes have been donated by local businesses. Palling Bros Brewery will be donating beer and other donations will be greatly appreciated.
“If anyone is decorating their house we would love to know what street they are in so that we can add it to our map.”
For further information or to donate prizes or lollies, see Sam at Paper Creations opposite IGA Thursday to Sunday.
