ALMOST two hundred dollars was raised for the Heathcote and District Pony Club at a fundraising sausage sizzle at The Barn open day.

Co-owner Sharon Greenfield said she was very pleased with how the day went despite cold and rainy weather.

“We were quite busy throughout the day,” she said. “It was good to see everyone.

“The weather might have stopped a few people coming but it was still a great event.

“Our community is wonderful and we are always grateful for the support.

“There was a colouring competition for the kids, and they all lined up to have their faces painted.

“Adults browsed the stalls and displays and bought some of our discounted items.

“Everyone got a ticket for our door prizes, and we sold raffle tickets for Pancare.”

The cold weather attracted plenty of customers to the sausage sizzle in aid of the Heathcote and District Pony Club.

“We were really glad the pony club did well,” said Ms Greenfield.

“It was the perfect day for a hot sausage in bread.”
