THERE will be something for everyone in the family at this year’s Heathcote Show.

The show will be held on Melbourne Cup Day at the showgrounds.

“We are all ready to go,” said show secretary Robyn Donovan. “One feature will be a huge variety of different food options.

“The Lions Club will be manning their barbeque, and we will have baked and twisted potatoes.

“There will be a great selection of Asian food, whipped ice cream and doughnuts in various different flavours.”

Animal lovers can enjoy the horse events and yard dog trials, as well as Professor Wallace, Whitey’s Ferrets and Farmer Darryl.

“A special feature this year is the butterfly house,” said Ms Donovan

“Children can go in and interact with the butterflies and, best of all, It’s free.

“Sideshow alley is always popular as well as the face painting.”

Judging for the Arts and Craft competitions will take place prior to show day.

“We ask that all exhibits are delivered to the Art and Craft pavilion at the showgrounds between 10am and 12 noon on Monday 4 November, unless otherwise indicated in the schedule.

Adult entry to the show is $12 with free entry for ages 16 and under. Gates open at 9am.
