To the rescue!

Female VICSES volunteers from across the Loddon Mallee region gathered at Huntly’s Victoria Emergency Management Training Centre on Saturday as part of the SES Women in Rescue program. The event was coordinated by Heathcote SES volunteers including Mel Thompson and Sally Duncan and saw over 20 women from SES services in the region take part. Along with the Heathcote volunteers there were representatives on hand from Gisborne, Bendigo, Rushworth, Birchip, and Marong. The day-long program saw the participants split into groups and take part in three rotations including advanced road crash rescue, safe working at heights and domestic rescue skills.
