Tooby PS gets new principal
THE new principal at Tooborac Primary School has said he’s looking forward to working with families to provide support such as after school care and pre-school opportunities.
With time spent working at small schools in Victoria and Western Australia, Danny Patton said he’ll look to draw on that experience in his new role.
“I really enjoy small schools,” he said. “I have worked in small schools in St Arnaud and in Indigenous communities in Wyndham and Kununurra.
“I just completed nine wonderful years at St Patrick’s Primary School at St Arnaud as principal. My wife Amanda is a teacher and we have four children we are raising and educating in Bendigo.
Mr Patton said he would like the school to compliment neighbouring schools in Heathcote and Pyalong.
“We want to focus on extra curricula activities such as camps, excursions and sports coaching. We also want to socialise with other schools and community groups,” he said.
“2024 will be a time of change for Tooborac Primary School with new staffing, a building that was refurbished less than 12 months ago and a new bus.
“There is also an opportunity to improve the facilities we have.”
Mr Patton lists his hobbies as football and guitar and hopes to include both music and sport in the curriculum.
