THE Elmore Tractor Pull will return next weekend to where it started in 1976 at the Elmore Field Days.
The tractor pull was the first of its kind in Australia.
The event is being run by the Elmore Field Days, in conjunction with the Down Under Modified Tractor Pulling Association
“It is so good to have it where it belongs,” said executive manager of Elmore Field Day, Derek Shotton.
“The Elmore Tractor Pull holds a unique place in Australian tractor-pulling history and our local community.
“First established in 1976 at the Elmore Field Days, the sport later flourished in our district under the stewardship of the neighbouring Colbinabbin community for many years.
“After a period of hiatus, the Elmore Tractor Pull was proudly revived in 2020 through a partnership between Elmore Field Days and St Joseph’s Primary School, Rochester.
“Following three highly successful events, Elmore Field Days is stepping up as the sole promoter and event owner, ensuring the future growth and success of this much-loved tradition for generations to come.”
The Elmore Tractor Pull will be held on Saturday 15 March. Gates open at 3pm with the tractor pull commencing at 4pm.
There will be onsite catering with food, drink and bar facilities and alcohol and non-alcohol spectator banks.
No glass or BYO is permitted. There is no camping on site, but free camping is available at Aysons Reserve.
