BENDIGO is set to be transported back in time with a show by the band Forever 80s.

The night promises to immerse the audience in a journey through the iconic tunes and fashion of the 1980s on Saturday 5 August at the Capital.

Director and singer Richard ‘Blue Steel’ Swanson said enthusiasts of the decade can expect an authentic experience as the show features a cast of performers, stunning costumes, and state-of-the-art audio-visual effects that capture the essence of the period.

Swanson spent some time living in Bendigo and said he is looking forward to performing for some familiar faces.

“I always love to go back to places where I’ve lived,” he said. “My favourite part of the show is the audience.”

Swanson said Forever 80s is a celebration of the era’s greatest hits and features chart-topping classics from iconic artists such as Michael Jackson, Madonna, Prince, Whitney Houston, and more.

Attendees can anticipate a trip on a musical rollercoaster as they relive hits such as Like a Virgin, Billie Jean, and I Wanna Dance with Somebody.

“You’ll hear songs no other bands would dare to do live,” said Swanson, who said the band gives their absolute all to each performance.

“It’s a full high-energy show. I’m almost collapsing by the end.”
