Volunteer opps at shop, food share

HEATHCOTE Community Opportunity Shop and Food Share is seeking volunteers to work in a variety of different areas throughout the shop.

There is a task for everyone, no matter a person’s interest or expertise.

Community Opportunity Shop and Food Share president Glen Cullimore said volunteers are desperately needed across the board.

“As with many groups, it is hard to find enough volunteers,” he said. “We all need volunteers, and good volunteers are very hard to find.

“Unfortunately, we are short staffed at the moment.

“Recently, two volunteers left due to illness, and it is hard to replace them.

“I am usually able to fill positions when I am working behind the counter and talking to customers but lately, I have been too busy filling in for other roles.

“There are many opportunities to help in different areas.

“These include shop assistants, gardening, sales, handy people, secretary and treasurer.”

The shop is open Monday to Saturday from 9am to 2pm.
