What to do when you lose connectivity

September 6, 2024 BY

Bookings can be made by calling the community house on 5433 2820 on weekdays from 9am to 3pm.

A FREE community information session on how to prepare for an emergency in areas that can lose connectivity will be held at Heathcote Community House on Monday 9 September.

The 11am session will be run by nbn Local in partnership with the City of Greater Bendigo.

“Places are filling quickly,” said community house executive officer Vicki Forde.

“The session will be held at the community house but we would really like lots of people to attend and will move to a larger venue if necessary.

“Our last session on connectivity and scams awareness was underattended but we received positive feedback from those who did attend.”

Speakers at the session will provide information on what to expect during an emergency and how residents can prepare themselves and their homes.

“Flood and storm events over the past two years have reminded us of how unpredictable our weather can be,” said Ms Forde.

“The session will help people to be prepared to help themselves, their neighbours and vulnerable people who rely on them.

“Attendees will find out what resources are available to them and what the nbn is doing to support the community during these times.

“Everyone is invited and welcome to attend.”
