A MATCH of last season’s preliminary finalists, Lockington Bamawm United and Colbinabbin highlights Saturday’s fourth round of senior footy in the Bendigo Bank Heathcote DFNL season.

Lockington is on home turf and will start favourite as both clubs chase win number two.

The Stacy Fiske-coached Cats were too strong for Huntly last round, while Colbinabbin was outplayed by Mount Pleasant.

Despite the presence of dual Hawthorn premiership player Ben McEvoy and his brothers Matt and Peter for a one-off match, Colbinabbin could not halt Mount Pleasant’s run to a 43-point victory.

Key players for the Jed Brain-coached Grasshoppers include Ben Barton, Laine Fitzgerald, David Price, Connor Aldous and Jasper McArdle.

A talented LBU team includes Brodie and Jesse Collins, Max Johnson, Thomas Leech and Riley McIvor.

Mount Pleasant is back at Toollen to face Leitchville Gunbower.

The Adam Baird-coached Blues have the firepower of Ben Weightman and Mitch Rovers, and gun ruckman Chris Down.

Jobee Warde, Jye Keath and Billy Hawken play crucial roles for the Shannon Keam-coached Bombers.

Elmore is at home to face White Hills.

A 2-1 record has the Dylan Friedberger-coached Elmore in third place.

The Bloods worked hard for a 25-point win at Leitchville as Darcy Laffy, Rhys Holmberg and ruckman Daniel Russell led the way.

White Hills won an epic battle at home against Heathcote.

Nine goals by the brilliant Kaiden Antonowicz earned best afield honours in a 115-113 victory for the Jack Fallon and Jake Pallpratt-coached Demons.

After a bye, North Bendigo marks a third consecutive home match when it takes on Huntly at Hibo Hotel Oval in Atkins Street.

The Rob Bennett-coached Bulldogs have kicked off the season with wins against Mount Pleasant and Lockington Bamawm United.

It’s another huge test for the Harry Whittle and Jayden Cordy-coached Hawks.

Heathcote has the bye.
